Key presenter at public talks and handled media interviews including radio and newspaper; developed strategies and presented information to local, state and federal elected officials regarding development issues; formed key alliances with other environmental organizations to challenge and bring about change in the area of coastal development; lobbied federal, state and county representatives on national and regional environmental issues.

Beth Hayes Beth Hayes - Treasurer

Beth’s volunteer efforts, which started in 1980 as a TRW AGE board member / newsletter publisher, and her lifelong love of the outdoors didn’t come together until moving to Florida in 1996. She became a founding member of the Apalachee Ecological Conservancy (APECO) a few years later. She served on the APECO board as secretary/treasurer, secretary of the Alligator Point / St Teresa Taxpayers Association, and was the editor of their two newsletters. Her volunteer activities included: turtle patrol, coastal cleanups, water monitoring, and lobbying in Washington DC to effect the reauthorization of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation Act.
