Worked with various NGOs as president, volunteer and lobbyist to help advance their causes. Organized and participated in various studies and research projects designed to gather crucial ecological and biological information. Key presenter at public talks and handled media interviews including radio and newspaper; developed strategies and presented information to local, state and federal elected officials regarding development issues; formed key alliances with other environmental organizations to challenge and bring about change in the area of coastal development; lobbied federal, state and county representatives on national and regional environmental issues.

Beth Hayes - Treasurer
Beth’s volunteer efforts, which started in 1980 as a TRW AGE board member / newsletter publisher, and her lifelong love of the outdoors didn’t come together until moving to Florida in 1996. She became a founding member of the Apalachee Ecological Conservancy (APECO) a few years later. She served on the APECO board as secretary/treasurer, secretary of the Alligator Point / St Teresa Taxpayers Association, and was the editor of their two newsletters. Her volunteer activities included: turtle patrol, coastal cleanups, water monitoring, and lobbying in Washington DC to effect the reauthorization of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation Act.
